FLAIR Fellowship Awarded to Dr. Elizabeth Ndunda

Dr. Elizabeth Ndunda, a Lecturer at Machakos University, wins the Future Leaders –African Independent Research (FLAIR) fellowship grant (UK£300,000). This is after a competitive selection of her proposal in a pool of more than 700 applicants. The grant will extend for a period of two years in supporting her proposed research titled “Towards real-time in-situ determination of polychlorinated biphenyls using molecularly imprinted polymers based sensors.” Her main research focus is on synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers (so-called artificial receptors) for application in sensor systems and as adsorbents for detection of environmental pollutants of global concern.
