Duncan Odiero, a first-year Bachelor of Education Special Needs student, specializing in Mathematics and Biology, recently received a new wheelchair to support his mobility on campus.

Duncan, who has a physical impairment affecting his lower limbs, joined Machakos University in September 2025. Upon admission, it was noted that he relied on a worn-out wheelchair that made movement difficult and unsafe.
The Department of Educational Psychology and Special Needs assessed his situation and reached out to Hope Mobility Kenya, who graciously provided a suitable assistive device. Duncan comes from a humble background, and his parents face significant financial challenges, making this support both timely and life-changing.
Machakos University remains committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student can pursue their academic goals with dignity and adequate support.
