Mr John Obonyo Ondego –the Machakos County Commissioner paid a courtesy call to Machakos University on Tuesday the 7th December. 2021. He was accompanied by an official from Presidential Delivery Unit-Ms Georgina Njoroge and several officials from NIS including, the County NIS Director, Mr. Moses Onene.
The County Commissioner was cordially welcomed by Vice Chancellor –Prof.Lucy Irungu, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Administration, Planning and Finance- Prof. Douglas Shitanda and Mr Adam Shisia, the Ag. Director, Corporate Affairs, Public Relations and Marketing.
The aim of the courtesy call was to follow up on the on-going government sponsored projects within the University. The visit of the commissioner’s team was to check on the status of these projects and find out their progress, any challenges and determine their completion timelines.
During the discussions, Mr John Obonyo Ondego –the Machakos County Commissioner, thanked the Vice Chancellor for the good work at the University. He acknowledged the tremendous contribution the University is playing for the community. As a member of County Development Implementation Committee, he pointed out that the County is serious on the progress and completion of any government project as it is important for the achievement of the government’s Big Four Agenda.
On behalf of the University, the Vice Chancellor appreciated and acknowledged the support and the goodwill from the Government through the Commissioner and was thankful to H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya, Hon.Uhuru Kenyatta.
