This is not the first-time students of Machakos University have demonstrated to the world that they are the top in in the field of technology, engineering and ICT. In 2019 the I-Voting (Intelligent Voting) technology was developed by students from Machakos University. This is till the first ever software that combines all the voting environments into one and can be applied to any environment in the world where choice is needed. I-Voting does not require additional programming or coding for it to fit into any environment, it does that on its own, thus making it self-customizable and adaptive to the individual user needs. It does all these while being secured by up-to-date, custom-made security measures.
Machakos University students have always come out as the best in whatever they do. Armstrong Walumbe, our former student in Environmental studies and Community Development once said “…. our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them and there is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.’’ This student Walumbe became the Director of Hult Prize at Machakos University initiative and steered his fellow students to final round of competition in Africa.
The Hult Prize is a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurship that brings together the brightest college and university students from around the globe to solve the world’s most pressing issues. In partnership with the United Nations, the Hult Prize hosts college and university events around the world in search of the next game-changing start-ups.
