COLLABORATION EFFORTS AT SCOTT CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY
The Vice-Chancellor Professor Lucy Irungu paid a courtesy call to her counterpart, Prof.Mumo Kisau, the Vice-Chancellor of Scotts Christian University. In her company, she had Prof.Eng.Douglas Shitanda-Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Administration, Planning and Finance, Prof.Peter Mwita- Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Research, Innovations and Linkages, Prof.Joyce Agalo- Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Academic and Student Affairs and Prof.Ongari-Registrar- Academic and Student Affairs, Wycliffe Amukowa-Ag.Registrar- Research, Innovations and Linkages , Ag.Finance Officer-Mr Wambua, Ag.Director, Corporate Affairs, Public Relations and Marketing-Mr Adam Shisia and Webmaster-Mr Daniel Ndolo.
The Vice-Chancellor’s delegation was cordially welcomed by the host composed of Prof. Mumo Kisau, Dr Mwania-Dean,School of Theolgy and Dr Kilonzo- Dean,School of Business and Professional Studies.
The aim of the courtesy call was to extend our good neighborliness and enhance collaborations between the two Universities. The Vice-Chancellors expressed the need for the two universities to collaborate and form partnerships in the following areas:
• Enhance synergies and staff/student mobility collaborations as per recommendation of Inter Universities Council of East Africa and European Union, especially for post graduate programs.
• Collaboration and partnership for joint grant applications for research in areas that provide societal solutions.
• Joint participation in community service activities including cleaning Machakos town and tree planting etc.
• Collaboration in sharing of resources like libraries, fields, ICT labs etc • Facilitate interactions of students of the two universities useful for desirable character building especially in sports, joint student leadership forums etc.
