Machakos University was chartered on 7th October, 2016 and is a successor of Machakos University College. It is Located one (1) Km from Machakos Town along the main Machakos-Wote road.

Machakos University invites applications from candidates who are suitably qualified and experienced with excellent credentials to fill the following vacant positions in the University:

  1. NURSE-MksU/HR/NT/LN/01 (ONE POST)
Responsibilities   a)     Perform first aid operations and preliminary documentation of signs and symptoms of students before they meet the clinical officer to facilitate curbing of emergencies and fast service delivery. b)     Administer medical drugs to students within the health unit to ensure intake is as prescribed. c)     Provide psychosocial support to students in need as prescribed to ensure complete recovery from any illness related trauma. d)     Monitor student’s response to treatment within the health unit so as to identify any needed changes in treatment and escalate the same to the clinical officer for necessary action. e)     Organize for students to be taken to other referral health facilities based on the Clinical Officers recommendations so as to ensure patients receive the due medical care for recovery. f)      Ensure proper recording and archiving of students’ health information records for use in decision making when administering treatment to them in future. Job Requirements: Must have:- a)     Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse. b)     Registered with Nursing Council of Kenya. c)     Valid practising Licence. d)     Two (2) years post graduation, Hospital experience. e)     Computer Literate.   In Addition i.            Experience in a University setting will be an added advantage. ii.            This Position will be on Locum Terms of Service  
  1. SECURITY GUARDS – GRADE 1/2MksU/HR/NT/SG/02   (TWO POSTS)
  Main Responsibilities a)     Perform daily patrols within the University and assigned work stations to guard students, staff and University property against any possible threat. b)     Inspect incoming staff, students and visitors at the various entry points on a daily basis to ensure any potential threat is identified before entry and the necessary measures are initiated when need be c)     Welcome and direct visitors in the University on a daily basis so as to assist them in accessing their preferred points upon approval of entry rights d)     Maintain and update visitors’ and vehicles’ registers on a daily basis for use in fostering safety of the same and tracking their operations within the institution. e)     Ensure proper locking of office doors and maintenance of the University’s keys rack on a daily basis so as to ensure controlled access to various rooms is effected for the safety of property. f)      Ensure there is proper lighting of the compound every night g)     Participate in collection of information relating to crimes and other security matters within the University when called upon to aid in investigative processes h)    Offer assistance in resolving students or staff conflicts as they arise so as to foster coexistence and creation of a peaceful work and learning environment. i)       Respond to emergencies as they occur within the University so as to alert staff and students to take refuge as well as offer assistance in evacuation. Job Requirements a)     KCSE Certifictae or its equivalent   In Addition i.            Certificate of good conduct is an added advantage.
