Speaking at the 3^rd Annual Tree planting event, the Deputy Governor-Machakos County, Eng. Francis Maliti who was the Chief Guest lauded Machakos University for taking tree planting exercise very seriously. He said tree planting is the right kind of social responsibility for the community for it addresses the region’s water problem and lack of afforestation. He said as the Deputy Governor, he will see how land can be found within the County where the University can carry out afforestation and environmental research to increase tree coverage in Machakos County.

The governor was accompanied by CEC for Environment – Hon. Naomi Mutie, and other county officials during the exercise.
