As Machakos University prepares to welcome the incoming Class of 2025 on Monday, 25th August, students’ safety, comfort, and well-being remain a top priority.
With limited on-campus accommodation, a joint team from the Dean of Students’ Office, Security, Health Unit, Catering, and Housekeeping departments conducted a comprehensive two-day survey of nearby hostel facilities on 14th and 15th August, 2025 with a goal of ensuring that every student, whether residing on or off campus, finds a safe, supportive, and conducive living environment.
The survey revealed strong collaboration with local service providers, reflecting the university’s commitment to building meaningful community partnerships. Among the hostels assessed, Habitat Hostel for Girls emerged as a leading recommendation alongside a list of other approved facilities, which will be shared with parents and guardians on reporting day, to help them make informed accommodation choices for their children as they settle them into university life.
Machakos University remains steadfast in its mission to create not just an academic institution but a secure and caring ecosystem where students can thrive within and beyond campus walls.
