Kenya’s Ambassador to Russia pays a Courtesy call to Machakos University to Explore Academic Collaborations

Machakos University was honored to host H.E. Dr. Peter M. Mathuki, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Russian Federation, during a courtesy call on Wednesday, 13th August 2025. The Ambassador was received by the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo, alongside the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellors, the Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, the Dean of the School of Pure and Applied Sciences, the Dean of the School of Business, Economics, Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Prof. Mugendi M’Rithaa.
The visit aimed to strengthen Kenya–Russia academic ties by initiating collaborations between Machakos University and leading universities in Russia. These partnerships will focus on student and staff exchange programmes, offering opportunities for knowledge sharing, research collaboration, and cultural exchange.
Speaking during the meeting, the Vice Chancellor expressed the University’s commitment to fostering international linkages that broaden academic horizons for both students and staff. Ambassador Mathuki reiterated the importance of such partnerships in enhancing educational experiences and equipping graduates with a global perspective.
