Machakos University Pays a Courtesy Call to the Machakos County Leadership

On Tuesday, 5th August 2025, the Machakos University Management Board, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joyce J. Agalo, paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Governor of Machakos County, Hon. Francis Mwangangi.

The visit was an expression of appreciation for the unwavering support and commitment that the Deputy Governor has consistently shown towards the University. His presence and active involvement in major institutional events have continued to affirm the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between Machakos University and the County Government.

The University Management also took the opportunity to convey its profound gratitude to the Governor of Machakos County, Her Excellency Hon. Wavinya Ndeti, for her outstanding leadership and strategic support to higher education in the County. Her Excellency has remained a steadfast champion of the University’s mission through her direct contribution to initiatives that promote student welfare, education infrastructure, innovation, and youth empowerment. Her commitment to the development of a knowledge-driven economy has significantly contributed to Machakos University’s pursuit of academic excellence, research, and community engagement.

During the meeting, the University Management and the Deputy Governor held fruitful discussions on various areas of potential collaboration. These included strengthening the education framework, enhancing student safety and security, particularly along the Machakos-Wote Road, developing critical infrastructure such as access roads and bridges, boosting agricultural productivity and food security, expanding innovation and industry linkages, and creating more opportunities for student industrial attachments.

The University looks forward to continued engagement and partnership with the County Government under the leadership of Her Excellency the Governor and her Deputy, to advance sustainable development through education and innovation.
