Machakos University Signs Contract with Nikomat Construction Company Ltd for Cabro Paving Project

Machakos University officially signed a contract with Nikomat Construction Company Ltd on Thursday, 8th May 2025, for the installation of pre-cast concrete paving blocks (cabro) across various sections of the university grounds, including the Machakos University Hotel and Conference Centre.
The contract was formalized between Machakos University’s management, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo, and Mr. Jackson Mutinda, the Project Manager of Nikomat Construction Company Ltd.
Construction work is set to commence immediately, with a projected completion timeline of 6 to 8 weeks. During the event, Mr. Mutinda assured the university’s community of timely and high-quality execution of the project.
This paving project marks another step in the university’s ongoing infrastructure modernization, promising an appealing campus, improved walkways and roads with proper road markings, and an improved storm water drainage system.
This project closely follows the ongoing construction of Machakos University’s state-of-the-art perimeter wall, demonstrating the university’s commitment to creating a secure, accessible, and student-friendly environment.
