Prof. Peter Kibet Koech

Prof. Peter Kibet Koech is an Associate Professor of Education in Early Childhood Years and Primary Education. Prof. Kibet currently is serving as the Director at the Centre for Open Distance and e-learning. He received his PhD in Early Childhood Education from Kenyatta University in 2010 and a Master of Arts degree in Education from University of Northern Iowa (USA). From 2004 to 2024, he has taught at Moi University, Kenyatta University, Mount Kenya University and Machakos University.  He enjoys the opportunity to see his students learn, grow, and thrive in education and as they engage in micro-teaching and teaching practice experiences. Before joining the university, Professor Kibet taught in Ndalat Gaa High School in Nandi County and St. Joseph’s Boys High School, Githunguri in Kiambu County

His research interests include Open, Distance and e-learning ,teacher education, ICT and AI-powered educational technology, Early Literacy and  Numeracy, Pedagogy and Andragogy. Professor Kibet has published articles in many peer reviewed international journals
