INSPECTION OF STEM CENTER BY THE VICE-CHANCELLOR

The Center constructed in partnership with STEM power consists of virtual laboratory and Physics Physical laboratory and is expected to be launched on 25th January, 2024.

STEM Center reaffirms the University’s status as a Center of Excellence in Engineering and Technology and will greatly enhance the University research and innovation portfolio. It will foster collaboration between students, faculty, and industry experts, leading to the development of innovative solutions to real-world problems. By nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the center will contribute to the growth of Kenya’s economy and society.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo expressed her gratitude to Prof. Peter Mwita, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (RIL) for his unwavering commitment to the pursuit of beneficial linkages. Equally, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the Coordinator, Collaborations and Linkages, Dr. Michael Musembi as the initial contact person in this partnership.

In preparation for the launch of Machakos University STEM Center, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo accompanied by the University Management visited the Center.

Members were taken through a demonstration of a 3D printer –  a type of additive manufacturing technology that creates three-dimensional objects layer by layer from digital models or computer-aided design (CAD) files.
